X Minus One 1955 reviewX Minus One radio show

Radio science fiction anthology drama series containing a different story in each episode. The stories were often based on the novels and short stories published earlier in the Galaxy Science Fiction (also called Galaxy Magazine) by well-known authors of the era, such as Isaac Asimov, Ray Bradbury, Philip K. Dick, Robert A. Heinlein, Frederik Pohl and also original scripts from Ernest Kinoy and George Lefferts, who were in-house scriptwriters for the show.

Many of the scripts in X Minus One were originally used by Kinoy and Lefferts in another radio series - Dimension X (1950-1951) - and thus it is often called simple an extension to Dimension X. But X Minus One had a different style from Dimension X, offering not only the core sci-fi stories, but often lighter side of the genre and stories from borderline science fiction.

The show was broadcasted between 1955 and 1958, but X Minus One was surprisingly revived for a short time in 1973 when NBC used the show as a test balloon to see if radio drama could still attract many listeners in the 1970s. After less than 2 years of broadcasting old scripts, the idea was all together dropped in 1975.
