The Adventures of Nero Wolfe 1943 reviewThe Adventures of Nero Wolfe radio show

Nero Wolfe was character created by Rex Stout, who wrote 33 novels and 39 short stories about that character between 1934 and 1975. The Adventures of Nero Wolfe were based on the characters from the novels, but the scripts were written by Louis Vittes for the show with original plots, not based on the novels.

Nero Wolfe, the armchair detective and genius when it comes to solving complicated cases, at the same time he had his weak points - he never left his house on West 35th Street in New York City, even during the investigations, he loved beer and good food, which lead to his obesity. His assistant, Archie Goodwin, was also his legman, who took care of every bit of the detective work that required leaving Wolfe’s house.

In 39 episodes 3 different actors gave voice to Nero Wolfe - J.B. Williams, Santos Ortega and Luis Van Rooten, but the part of Archie Goodwin was played by Joseph Julian.
